Assistant Professor,Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona,Spain
Dr. Eloi Parladé is an Assistant Professor of Microbiology in the Department of Genetics and Microbiology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. His research combines environmental microbiology and nanobiotechnology, focusing on the engineering of recombinant proteins to create functional biomaterials.
He has also taught as an adjunct professor at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and has worked extensively on recombinant protein technologies at the Institute of Biotechnology and Biomedicine (UAB). In parallel, he has been involved in translational nanomedicine through the biotechnology startup Nanoligent S.L., where he contributed to the development of protein-based nanotherapeutics for cancer and currently serves as a scientific advisor as the company advances its lead candidate toward Phase I clinical evaluation.
His current research explores ion-dependent protein secretory microgranules, bioinspired protein depots that mimic natural hormone storage systems, with applications in vaccinology, antimicrobial therapy, cancer treatment, and emerging bioremediation strategies.
