Abstract Peer-review Process/Guidelines

Shaping the Future: Materials Europe 2025

Join us for the International Materials Science and Engineering Event of the Year, where cutting-edge advancements in nanomaterials, biomaterials, and the science and technology of advanced materials converge. Materials Europe 2025 promises to be a transformative platform for researchers, industry professionals, and academics alike, as we explore the future of materials science at the World Materials Science Conference 2025 and the European Materials Science Symposium.

Abstract Peer-Review Process and Guidelines

The PRISM team and the organizing committee of Materials Europe 2025 are committed to maintaining a rigorous, high-quality, and unbiased peer-review process for all abstracts submitted to the event. This ensures that only the most innovative and impactful research contributions are showcased at the conference.

Peer-Review Process Steps:

  • Initial Screening : All submitted abstracts are reviewed by the internal editorial team to ensure adherence to the conference scope. Abstracts that pass this initial screening are assigned to the session chair or review committee for further evaluation.
  • Independent Evaluation : The session chair/review committee decides whether independent expert reviews are required. External reviewers evaluate the majority of submissions, with the committee determining the number of reviews necessary.
  • Final Decision : Based on the received reviews, the session chair/review committee will:
    • Accept or reject the abstract.
    • Request revisions from the authors in response to reviewers’ comments. Authors have 14 days to resubmit revised abstracts if minor or major revisions are requested.
  • Keynote and Invited Speakers : Abstracts submitted by invited and keynote speakers will be reviewed directly by the conference chairman.

Scoring Criteria:

Abstracts will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Originality : Novelty of concept/approach and level of innovation.
  • Relevance : Significance, impact, and alignment with the conference theme.
  • Quality : Strength of research design and theoretical argument.
  • Interpretation : Clarity of conclusions and interpretation of results.
  • Presentation : Coherence and clarity of structure.
