Prof. Michael Zharnikov

Michael Zharnikov received a PhD from the RSC Kurchatov Institute in Moscow (1989). Later, he worked at the Technical University Munich (1991-1994) and the Max-Planck Institute für Mikrostrukturphysik in Halle/Saale (1994-1996). In 1996, he joined the Chair of Applied Physical Chemistry at Heidelberg University. His research fields include interface engineering, functional molecular films, soft-matter nanofabrication, molecular and organic electronics, biointerfaces, molecular structure of liquids, and advanced X-ray spectroscopy. He published over 400 papers in peer-reviewed journals, attracting ca. 14500 citations with an h-index of 62 (Web of Science). He is a member of the Editorial and Advisory Boards of several journals.
