Tersilla Virgili received the Master's degree in Physics from the University of Bologna, Italy, in 1996. and the PhD degree in Physics from the University of Sheffield (UK), under the supervision of Prof.DDC Bradley in 2000. Since December 2001, she has a permanent position as a researcher at the Institute of Photonics and Nanotechnologies (IFN) of the Italian National Research Council (CNR) in Milan. She is a co-author of more than 100 research papers in international journals. Her current research interests include ultrafast spectroscopy, photophysics of organic and inorganic compounds, and microcavity working in weak and strong coupling regimes.
